Forest Green Rovers Stadium,

Our design came from combining the beautiful surrounding landscape in which the stadium would nestle with the anticipation and excitement gained from entering a football stadium before a match.

The stadium would sit on rammed earth mound to provide a rake for the seating, and fans would enter through tunnels and elevated walk ways to experience or admire the woodland setting of the stadium.

The tunnel football players enter a pitch through, the almost gladatorial ceremony of it combined with the obvious ancient roman references within the site and glorious natural surroundings, the tunnels used by woodland animals, seemed so well aligned for this project it inspired us to focus on the emotional element of looking forward to seeing your team perform.

We also wanted to ensure the building used as many local and sustainable materials as possible, encouraged the fans and local communities to contribute to the design and used renewable energy.
