3D Scanning

New advances in software technology are allowing high resolution 3D models to be generated from a large number of photographs of the same object.  We have been researching this technology for the past couple of years and discovering how it could be used in architectural design.  One of the more exciting uses is for conservation projects and listed buildings where the 3D scan of the existing building can be combined with the proposals allowing you to see exactly how they will interact.  Combine this with Virtual Reality and its possible to get an ultra realistic immersive experience of the final design.  We have now integrated this into our workflow allowing ourselves and our clients to get a better understanding of our designs and how they interact with the existing environment around them.
